IP Access Control Feature

Updated Sep 2, 20261 min read

If you are using ServiceNow’s “IP Access Control” feature to control the outgoing requests your instance can make, you may experience issues with the ScreenMeet widget due to restrictions in the network traffic between the ServiceNow cloud and the ScreenMeet platform:

To solve this issue, you will need to add the ScreenMeet platform’s IP address to the whitelist.

Add an IP address to the whitelist

  1. Use the “All” search bar to navigate to System Security → IP Address Access Control

  2. Click the New button to create a new record.

  3. Enter values the following fields:

    Type

    Direction

    Range start/end

    Allow

    Outbound

    ###.###.###.### (IP address to whitelist)

  4. Click Submit to save the record.

Add all of the ScreenMeet IP addresses

Perform the above process for every IP address listed in the following documentation pages:

https://docs.screenmeet.com/docs/firewall-white-list

https://docs.screenmeet.com/docs/api-egress-ip-ranges

After adding all of the IP addresses, your “Allow Outbound” list should look like this:

Troubleshooting

If outgoing requests are still bing blocked, try using “ping” (or an online DNS resolver like https://dnschecker.org/ping-ipv4.php to check the IP address for domain: api-v3.screenmeet.com and make sure it is in your “Allow Outbound” list.
