Instructions to Person at End Point Device
Remote Support Installation Overview
This article explains how end users start and participate in a ScreenMeet Remote Support session.
The downloaded application runs only for the session and is not installed permanently. No uninstallation is required. Afterward, the user may delete the downloaded executable to free disk space.
Starting a session
An agent with access to ScreenMeet Remote Support must create the session and provide the user with one of these methods:
Go to myhelpscreen.com and enter the PIN shown in the agent’s ScreenMeet console or CRM widget.
Open the personalized link provided by the agent, such as myhelpscreen.com/pinhere. The
pinhereportion is replaced with the user’s unique session code, and the link starts the download automatically.Launch the pre-installed MSI and enter the PIN.
After entering the PIN, select Start download, then open the downloaded executable.
Opening and running the application
Open or run the downloaded application. If it is difficult to locate, press Ctrl + J in the browser used for the download to open its downloads page.
Depending on the device’s antivirus software, the user may need to approve or allowlist the downloaded executable before it can run.
When prompted, select Allow to proceed. The session has started when a thin red border or outline appears around the screen.
Interacting during the session
After the session starts and the agent joins, the user will see the session window. They can pause the session, initiate a file transfer, or end the session at any time.
If chat is enabled, a chat window appears at the bottom of the session window for text communication between the user and agent.
